Balvir started her career as a qualified Occupational Therapist in 2005, working in an acute setting on rotational posts, in different clinical areas, such as Trauma & Orthopaedics, providing assessment, discharge planning and working with military persons who sustained complex poly trauma through bomb blasts.

She has extensive experience of working in elderly care, falls and rehabilitation, conditions such as dementia, frail/elderly, She has worked in respiratory, cardiology and vascular surgery, implementing therapy and strategies to overcome anxiety, such as relaxation and breathing exercises. Balvir has worked in social services with young people with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy (CP) and has experience of working with neurological conditions such as Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), TBI’s, Strokes, Spinal Cord Injuries and Paralysis.

As an Occupational Therapist Balvir is creative, enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated in providing a robust and transparent service to meet her clients needs, enabling support and working with them to meet their goals using outcome measures. She has excellent communication and literacy skills and has great leadership skills. Balvir is confident in her thinking process to problem solve and manage her time effectively.

She is aware of her strengths and weaknesses and areas for further development; therefore, she has a passion for lifelong learning, continuing professional development and implementing new initiatives to promote services. Balvir has experience of working as a Care/OT Expert Witness and has prepared medicolegal reports using her clinical knowledge and factual evidence to justify and quantify care/OT needs.
Balvir enjoys travelling and meeting interesting people. She has a passion for Eastern Philosophy enabling her to learn and improve mindfulness, reflection, and release positive energy and provide a vision of change for the future to fulfil my intentions and dreams.

She also enjoy singing and dancing and listening to music as this helps to release negative energy.
